rebecca: a love story
2017
ideated by Patrizia Nalbach
with: Mary Ferrarello, Flavio Gioia,
Bruno Lavizzari and Mario Preda
Rebecca is sincere love, guilty love, fruitful love, betrayed love and reborn love. Rebecca is the progenitor of feelings that struggle among themselves, as Jacob and Esau fought in her womb. Rebecca leads us into a "world of emotions" in which they unite and connect the separate parts of us:
a journey through the upsets of the feeling of love, declined in different languages and musical genres. Rebecca - summoning up the thoughts that inspire songs and poems - speaks to us of the power of life and of love as an ineliminable reality and eternal mystery. Any woman can imagine being Rebecca: she can make her the words she utters, she can feel the caresses on her skin that make her languid and satisfied or the wounds that humiliate her and beat her down. Her story has no beginning and no end. An ancient story that nobody gets tired of listening to.
A story that many have experienced in the first person, and who has not tried it has dreamed it.
A love story.
hafez - petrarca
A multicultural show based on Italian and Persian poetic and musical compositions, on Petrarca's sonnets and on Hafez's lyrical works, proposed by Swiss, Italian and Iranian artists.
Hafez is in fact the greatest Persian poet - a contemporary of Petrarca - to have also composed a "Canzoniere".
The verses of Petrarca are unraveled and are compared with the oriental atmospheres of the verses of Hafez, while the Italian sounds dialogue with the Persian ones.
With a view to a continuous culture of dialogue between East and West, the show aims to be a meeting between the two greatest composers of lyric and sonnets of the fourteenth century: Hafez in Iran and Petrarca in Italy.

Music tale - Traditional
The fairytale, written with irony and sarcasm by the author Louis Delcros, a military priest of French origin who lived the last years of his life in Ticino, contains the message that to do his job with a happy heart and take life in the spirit of good humor is one of the best wishes you can wish for a person. All these characteristics pushed the composer Giuseppe Senfett to choose the text for his compositional work. In the score some themes of Ticinese folk songs (by Mario Castelnuovo) are made homogeneous.

Silence: when exists, it is sensed, when it is not there it is not sensed.
"From silence comes all that we feel and what we see. What is the difference between the silence of the desert and that of the sea when it is calm, of a factory during a break or inside an empty church?
When we find ourselves in a burning room, we sense silence in its most authentic form, or rather, in the total absence of life.
Silence paints or represents the environment in which it manifests itself. "

Sound representation of an acoustic pyramid.
"The mystery that hovers around the pyramids has created in me a strong intuition, then matured in the project "Piramide Sonora". The sounds wind from the ancient frequency of 432 Hz, multiple of 8 Hz, oscillation on which the earth vibrates.
The sound emission occurs within time spaces defined in the score and regulated by a timer that allows the precision of the intertwining sound. The whole thing happens in an unpredictable and surprising way, the listener will be transported in the sound pyramid where the emissions go beyond the stereophony to reach the holophonic dimension of listening, that is 360 °. To be clear, the public is at the center and the musicians around."

angeli e demoni
2017
of Patrizia Nalbach and Ivano Torre
with Patrizia Nalbach and Ivano Torre
Angels and demons condenses the expression of two navigated and crazy artists in their thirst for research and experimentation. The evoked atmospheres unfold from the angelic song and become entangled in the mocking and brutal irreverence of the demons.
Patrizia Nalbach - in addition to natural and filtered singing - recites and dances, while Ivano Torre employs a group of antique dishes, a bass drum, electronic instruments and the voice.
il bosco ti guarda
2017

The show unfolds in a cycle formed by three movements: genesis, extension and spirituality. The first movement consists of the materialization of human beings on Earth. The second movement develops the relationship between human beings and the Earth and touches on issues such as pollution, waste, war and the killing of animals to make food. The third movement addresses the openness, the change and the rebirth of human beings and the planet. Important to note is the use of the four national languages that intertwine, mix, tell and overlap by creating rhythmic and stubborn soundtracks.Everything is set to a timer and each one follows the graphic score. There are 16 scenes. Each picture will create "frozen" moments where everything stops, a photograph without sound. There will be texts, phrases, comments or stories with the use of the four national languages mixed together. The Italian language emerges in the fulcrum and in the theme.

and the San Nicolao troupe
Titanic is a creation. The actors are the creators, artists of living art. Artists who see their bodies in all bodies and feel the movement of their own in all the movements of the other bodies. Special artists who are accompanied to develop their inner resources in a common growth.
Titanic is the union of the Arts of a special group.
It is in these actors that Titanic finds its truth through the union of movement, space and music, because it is through them that it acts on the sensibility of the viewers sharing emotions.

2018
ideated by Patrizia Nalbach and Giovanna Vassella
with Patrizia Nalbach, Giovanna Vassella,
Bruno Lavizzari, Flavio Gioia and Mario Preda
The performance comes from the experience gained by Giovanna Vassella - dancer, performer and choreographer from Lodrino - and Patrizia Nalbach - singer, actress and Italian-Swiss performer - during the performances
of "Il bosco ti guarda" by Ivano Torre who debuted at Cabbio in the Muggio Valley in July 2017 and has experienced six replicas in various locations in Ticino. Each show ended with the creation of a painting of the size of 160 x 100 cm made by Giovanna Vassella.Having come to the end of this artistic experience, the latter has felt the need to give voice and movement to the paintings - which will be present on the stage as a scenography - with the aim of reviving the feelings and states of soul that
led her to make choices of both color and shape. The show is divided into two parts: the first is a choreography in modern-contemporary style that will give life to the six paintings, while in the second one, a moment of improvisation, a 160 x 100 cm canvas will be painted accompanied by the song of Patrizia Nalbach and by the musicians in a real Jam-Session.

the night before the trial
2006
directed by Gianni Lamanna
The actors of Progetto Studio from Campo Teatrale Svizzera, directed by Gianni Lamanna, stage a two-act work set in Russia in the early years of the last century.
Eight travelers, caught in the night in a snowstorm, cross each other in a post office - where their destinies will be connected, and someone's life will change forever.
Inspired freely by Anton Chekhov's unique unfinished act of the same name, "The Night before the Trial" aims to offer a plausible completion, respecting the spirit of the famous playwright, although with some concessions to contemporary style.
La schiusa del fiore
2007
directed by Gianni Lamanna
Through the characters of classical mythology, taken from the great epic poems of Homer and Virgil and from the Metamorphoses of Ovid, "La schiusa del fiore" narrates, in tragic form and with a poetic language, four stories of love, of blood and of passion.
These ancient stories tell of human passion and disturbance in the face of love, war and destiny, and they are very actual showing that, despite the cultural and temporal distance, human aspirations, feelings and souls are eternal and universal.
Il buio del Golgota
2007
directed by Gianni Lamanna
Represented in the spaces full of suggestion of a sacred place, "Il buio del Golgota" is a meditation, in the form of drama, centered on the figure of Pilate and his spiritual events in the days following the death of Christ.
For believers and non-believers.
Girotondo
2008
directed by Gianni Lamanna
"Girotondo" is based on the homonymous work by Arthur Schnitzler published in 1900 and staged for the first time in 1920. Of all the works of Schnitzler, this is perhaps the most famous, for the open-mindedness of the theme he faces: the more or less occasional meetings of as many couples, chosen to represent all walks and social groups, from the soldier to the aristocrat, from the bourgeois woman to the maid, from the intellectual to the prostitute. The conclusion of the adventure is the same for everyone: a sense of detachment from the person they have in front of and with whom they have shared it.
DreamFastNet
2009
directed by Gianni Lamanna
"Dreamfastnet", an original text by Gianni Lamanna, represents the difficulty that art finds in expressing itself through human talent. At the center of the work is the intertwining of four stories that, like a magnifying glass, show exasperated, if not grotesque, human situations and prove that the pursuit of material well-being goes at the expense of true relationships with others, and leads to a poor quality of life and the annihilation of society.
The space is oneiric and resembles a surrealist painting. Around the stage there is in fact a golden but fragmented frame, as if the painting could not contain everything.
"Dreamfastnet" won the second prize at Kaleidoscopio 2009 at the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona.
The Winter's Tale
2010
directed by Gianni Lamanna
Written by William Shakespeare around 1611, "The Winter's Tale" is a theatrical pièce between drama and comedy: a moving story, to be heard during the long winter evenings, which however cheers the viewer with a surprise ending.
A fairytale told by a narrator and made alive by the different characters who, with their story, add a piece to the complex mosaic of the narrative plot, which will only be revealed to the public at the end. A story of passion, which tells of love, friendship, loyalty and presumed infidelity, in which human affairs are linked to fate and divinity.
Dove suonano i comignoli
2012
directed by Gianni Lamanna
A new visionary and multifaceted text by Gianni Lamanna. The show takes place in two acts in which three stories are told plus a choreographed dance-theater appendix.
In the first story, set in Central Africa, it tells the story of Mambo, the protagonist, who lives two years in a penitentiary, guilty of having cultivated opium. The second story tells the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a modern way. The third story is set in a hospital where Alzheimer's patients and patients with psychiatric problems are hospitalized. A choreography inspired by the Far East closes the journey.
"Dove suonano i comignoli" was staged in Belgium at Estivades 2012, an international festival that takes place every three years.
Linea di fronte
2013 - 2014
directed by Gianni Lamanna
Two spouses, thirty years of marriage, live in a small house on the border between two countries at war. When the war finally ends, the new border passes right in the middle of their home.
The arrival of a guard changes forever the lives of the two who are controlled day and night and forced to show their passport to go from the bathroom to the kitchen.
But there is something else: the guard looks familiar and awakens an old sense of guilt:
is he not by chance the child that years before the two parents had put at the door and who was believed missing or even dead in war ?

lydia welti escher
2019
Teatro Studio - LAC Lugano
Curated by Patrizia Nalbach
Conduction, voice, song: Patrizia Nalbach
Piano: Gioacchino Balistreri
A special evening to pay tribute to the figure of Lydia Welti-Escher, founder of the Gottfried Keller Foundation and daughter of the famous Swiss politician Alfred Escher.
An opportunity to remember and relive the passionate life of an exceptional woman who broke the strict social and moral norms of a high-ranking existence in the second half of the nineteenth century. A noble feminist out of the ordinary. An important woman for Swiss culture whose historical merit lies in having created a Swiss foundation of national importance - the Gottfried Keller Foundation - which was supposed to promote, according to the will of the founder, "the self-commitment of women in the field of arts and crafts ".
An unmissable appointment under the banner of the different artistic disciplines that distinguish LAC: art, poetry, literature and music.

LETTERS FROM EXILE (1933-1940)
2019
Villa dei Cedri Museum
Interpretation by Patrizia Nalbach
Staged reading inspired by the exchange of letters between Josef Albers and Wassily Kandinsky in the years following the closure of the Bauhaus in 1933, before the terms imposed by the Third Reich. The letters are a clear manifestation of the power of art at a time when the world seemed to be falling apart.
